The School Association
The School Association (skolföreningen) of the Swedish School of Geneva is the governing body of the school. Its Board manages the school on behalf of the School Association and meets on a monthly basis. The Board's mission is to organize and develop the school's activities. The Board: - has financial responsibility for school activities, - prepares the budget and proposes the school fees, - acts as employer and - is responsible for the school's long-term development. In addition, in consultation with parents, the Board defines the vision and goals of the school. The School Association holds an Annual General Meeting in October of each year at which time the members of the Association (all parents of enrolled children) elect a chairman and board members. The Board consists of four regular members and four alternates. One of the board members is appointed by the Swedish National Agency for Education (Skolverket) and acts as its representative. The Principal (rektor) of the Swedish School also attends Board Meetings.
